T2-mapping- influence of arrhythmia and heart rate: A phantom experiment

چکیده
Background Myocardial tissue differentiation applying Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) offers the capability to detect myocardial injury already in preserved ejection fraction. Detection of edema is a unique capability of CMR. Conventional T2 imaging suffers from technical challenges related to diseases specific issues like tachycardia, atrial fibrillation and pericardial effusion. T2-mapping seems to be more stable based on visual assessment. Little is known about its dependency of disease relate abnormalities. We aimed to investigate on the influence of heart rhythm abnormalities on T2 mapping.

Arrhythmia insensitive rapid cardiac T1 mapping pulse sequence
PURPOSE To develop an arrhythmia-insensitive rapid (AIR) cardiac T1 mapping pulse sequence for quantification of diffuse fibrosis. METHODS An arrhythmia-insensitive cardiac T1 mapping pulse sequence was developed based on saturation recovery T1 weighting, which is inherently insensitive to heart rate and rhythm, and two single-shot balanced steady-state free precession image acquisitions with...
متن کاملCombined saturation/inversion recovery sequences for improved evaluation of scar and diffuse fibrosis in patients with arrhythmia or heart rate variability.
PURPOSE To develop arrhythmia-insensitive inversion recovery sequences for improved visualization of myocardial scar and quantification of diffuse fibrosis. METHODS A novel preparation pre-pulse, called saturation pulse prepared heart-rate-independent inversion recovery, is introduced, which consists of a combination of saturation and inversion pulses to remove the magnetization history in ea...
متن کاملJoint myocardial T1 and T2 mapping using a combination of saturation recovery and T2 -preparation.
PURPOSE To develop a heart-rate independent breath-held joint T1 -T2 mapping sequence for accurate simultaneous estimation of coregistered myocardial T1 and T2 maps. METHODS A novel preparation scheme combining both a saturation pulse and T2 -preparation in a single R-R interval is introduced. The time between these two pulses, as well as the duration of the T2 -preparation is varied in each ...
متن کاملSaturation recovery single-shot acquisition (SASHA) for myocardial T(1) mapping.
PURPOSE To validate a new saturation recovery single-shot acquisition (SASHA) pulse sequence for T1 mapping and to compare SASHA T1 values in heart failure patients and healthy controls. THEORY The SASHA sequence consists of 10 electrocardiogram-triggered single-shot balanced steady-state free precession images in a breath-hold. The first image is acquired without magnetization preparation an...
متن کاملEffect of temperature and heart rate variability on Phantom T1 maps
Background Phantoms are increasingly being used for quality assurance when undertaking T1 mapping for myocardial interstitial fibrosis to ensure long-term stability of methods applied in patients e.g. against scanner alterations, across multi scanners and multi centers. We sought to investigate whether temperature and heart rate (HR) variability could influence Phantom T1/ECV as such a variatio...
